I'm Comin Home Again

Well, I don't think it's going to work out here in New York. So, unfortunately, I think I'm moving back home. It sucks, but I can't keep staying here with no job. Fuck

Downtown Adventure yesterday

So I went to Soho and Alphabet City yesterday and went to a couple places you should maybe know about.

First, I went to Nike Sportswear's 21 Mercer location. SICK! You can custom make shoes there and they have great jackets and shoes.

Next, I went to Ted Baker. If I had FuckYou money, this is where I would buy my clothes.

The Timberland store was good, but a little disappointing. There were a bunch of cool sneaker stores down there with some really rare nikes too.

After Soho, I met Gina in Alphabet City. We found this really cool thrift store, but all the dope t-shirts were too small for me. Then I found the Turntable Lab store which I didn't even know exsisted. I thought they were only online! I got a dope t-shirt.

Now, it was time to eat and drink.

We went first to a place called Yuca Bar. They had awesome pitchers of Sangria (we had one and a half) and really good tapas. We had the Coconut Shrimp, Mussels, and Tuna Ceviche....all delicious.

Then came The Goods! I took Gina to my new favorite spot, LULU. This place is amazing! It has the BEST drinks ever, and really decent food. If you get a chance, get at it. (Ask for the Thyme drink...its my favorite)

just a status update

So, I know it's been a while since I posted on here so I thought I'd say "what up". Still no job here in the city. It's becoming disheartening. However, I have like 7 or 8 interviews lined up for tomorrow so, hopefully, something will pan out. Hope you're doing well wherever you are. Hopefully, I'll be updating more frequently.

HOBNOX is SICK!!!!

Damnit! So, I found this GREAT website. It's called Hobnox and they have an audiotool on it that you can use to create dope beats. I wanted to put a pic of it on here, but, for some reason I can't. So just go to the site...here.

The Shins w/ the Delta Spirit at Terminal 5

I was pleasantly surprised by the show. I didn't think I was gonna enjoy it that much. The Delta Spirit were really good. Thanks to Jeremy Price...and his rad gf Whitney. They're great!

The Spotted Pig is awesome! We went for brunch on Sunday. I had The French Toast with bananas and bourbon syrup and a SixPoint beer. Oh, and shoestring french fries. SOOOOOO GOOD!

Whoa! Ubik is sweet!

This London-based duo, Ubik, did this animation. Love it!

YAY! I got a job!

So I got a job barbacking at this place in the west village called Casa La Femme. I guess it used to be in SoHo and they just moved or something. I dont know. Either way, I got a job and that kicks ass. Wish me luck on my first day! Oh, and if you're in the area, come by!

LUNCH BAG ART.......mmmmmm.

So this guy draws his kids' lunchbags every day. So cool.

Star Trek...lived up to expectations

So I finally saw it today. It's "stellar". (GET IT?.......GET IT?) Anyway, I think you should go out and see it immediately. Like, right now. Go

Here's the trailer

Ferris Bueller's Day Off...Still Phenomenal

I don't know when the last time you saw this movie was, but you should check it out again if it's been awhile...or even if it hasn't...watch it again.

Click here for a short clip.

ASTORIA PARK

Astoria Park is really nice...

Some friends and I went down there Saturday...

Here are some pictures...

Whoa....

REALLY?........YIKES!

Kutiman....This kicks ASS!

This is really cool! They took a bunch of You Tube videos and did a mashup of them. Enjoy!

Thanks to Geekologie for the vid

Back from Bedford Hills

So last night, I went out to Bedford Hills to visit my friend Kinley and her parents. These people are like family to me. I really had a great time.

Amy made some primavera and an artichoke and celery salad. Now, I know those of you that know me, know that I HATE any kind of salad qnd you're probably thinking, "Artichoke and celery???" Well, I actually enjoyed it. Rick showed me this great photo of Che and Fidel playing golf that he got from Jack Nicklaus (He used to work for Jack and Jack, being the super-right-wing-conservative that he is, didn't want it).

After dinner, Kinley and I played a few games of ping pong (I won 3 out of 5 games). Then Rick came out and played me in a game and beat me bad. He's really good (mad spin).

After ping pong, Kinley and I watched old home videos of here that were HILARIOUS!! She was like the cutest kid ever (except for me, of course).

Rick and I headed for the train around 7:45 this morning. I got into the city around 9:00, took the 4-5-6 from Grand central. Then got on what I thought was the N-R-W, but in fact turned out to be the F. This was horrible cause it dropped me off at Steinway and I had to walk like 5 or 6 blocks in the goddamn cold rain!!

But now I'm home and I took a nice hot shower. Listening to the Stern Show.

Have a sweet one!

Here we go......

Going job hunting down in Chelsea today. Why Chelsea? Thats where all the jobs I found on Craigslist were. Should be interesting. I've never traveled that far in New York by myself. I might go out and see Kinley today too.

5-01-09

First day-a little slow. Unpacked about half of my boxes (maybe more). Did groceries. Made some breakfast. Now, on my way to see my 37th St. pals. I'll write a proper blog soon, hopefully. It's crazy that I live here now. The feeling has been slowly setting in over the last 48 hrs. It's raining...kinda shitty.

Take it easy-

1 day left

So this is it. I'm leaving tomorrow for New York. This is gonna be crazy! Keep checking back here on the regular if you're at all interested in my life in New York. Get ready!
